Ching Han Chee's retirement again.

Rock Garden

Listen to the birds

Retirement is a state of mind. One stops doing what he is asked to do and sets his mind on what he wants to do. So there are no schedules and no forced obligations. That being true, here are some pictures of my garden.

All dirt begins with rock and

stone. These rocks

are considered "scholar" rocks

that are call "Taihu" from Suzhou

China, note the shape of Texas.

The oak leaves are grinded and mixed

with coffee grind, turned and baked

then it turns to dirt, ready to grow.

Rings from barrels are cut and filled with dirt, plants are placed in the ring.

Rings are covered for heat, and fed

with water from the fish barrel.

The fish water is then sprayed

onto the different plants and garden/jungle.

The plants grow wildly all over the

yard and are fed by a watering

system that is from rain water.

Plants grow, but the combinations are mixed by the gardener.

Some match, but others grown

separately and wild.

Flower is just beginning to come out.

Here they bloom in full trumpet. Rich in red and beauty.

The flowers lure the bees.

From the plain "snake plants" to

gathering of colors to show spring is here.

Gardening is fun and hard work. I  noted in an article from the Sunday paper that many centurion, those who lived to be 100 years old, worked and care for their farm and garden. While there are many things in our  lives we can control, plants and nature is one of the many factors we have  not learned to manipulate. Each item in nature move at its own speed, we are only care takers making  sure each have a chance to thrive.
